Original, un-clipped grey/blue background dust wrapper with black titles shows a small repair at head of lightly soiled spine, very light handling soil, but no tears. Jacket displays very well in new mylar. A small ownerless dog who starts his life in the slums of London, finds his way across the Atlantic as a stowaway and has numerous thrilling adventures in the New World before eventually returning to the country of his birth. The scenes and many of the incidents described are from the author's personal experiences during the four years that she spent with her parents in the United States. She has descriptive powers of a high order and a delightfully concise way of expressing herself. The great charm of her book lies in the fact that she has a very unusual understanding of the animal she describes. Signed.
