First Edition
Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. Quarter brown cloth spine and patterned paper over boards with paste-on cover title label; 12mo; 32pp; illustrated with frontispiece drawing plus 2 head-piece vignettes. Tales of gunning partridge in the covers of southern New Hampshire-all without benefit of a gun dog. Claflin's theories of dog-less hunting are of merit and he is not bashful about expounding on them. No limitation stated but doubtless published in a small edition, perhaps 100 copies or less. A prequel to his other upland shooting title "Partridge Adventures."This copy is in VG condition with minor cover and edge wear. Internally quite clean and bright. Most uncommon as the OCLC locates but 3 copies of which 2 reside at Harvard.
