Hardcover. White boards with black lettering and mylar cover, 89 pp with 6 movable plastic pages to be used with pp 79-89, profusely illustrated with bw plates. "This is a book to look at. Its pages are filled with designs which were formed by overlapping pairs of six patterns made of dots, squares, curves, waves, lines, and zig-zags. Part 1 includes a selection of new patterns chosen from the almost limitless number made possible by the slightest movement of one of the patterns. Part 2 shows each pattern two different ways, as black on white, and as white on black. The patterns have been enlarged and allowed to run off the page, thereby eliminating any white backgroudn which might interfere with an impartial comparison. In Part 3 the reader is invited to use the movable pages to explore through overlapping the variety of patterns which can be created as well as to observe their kinetic development." -prior to page 1. VG (tanning to board edges, small tears to mylar cover, interior clean).
