5 x 4 1/2 inches on heavy card paper. A stately original drawing by Thomas Erat Harrison (1853/1858ñ1917), British sculptor, painter, and stained glass designer who exhibited in London, including at the Royal Academy, of Thomas Bodley (1545-1613), the Elizabethan diplomat and scholar best known as the founder and restorer of the Bodleian Library at Oxford. Harrison's drawing, dated November, 1888, is no doubt an homage to the Bodley Head publishing house which was found one year early (1887). Signed and dated by Harrison on front, in pencil, and again on the back, in pen. Also provided are two proofs ( 3 x 2 inches, and 2 x 1 1/2 inches) printed on laid paper. Scarce thus. Signed.
