Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. 136pp. Illustrated in black and white. Signed and inscribed by Len Deighton on the title page: For Jim, best wishes, from Len Deighton, California, 1985. With a compliments card signed by both authors, Fred F Blau and Cyril Deighton, loosely laid in. One of an edition limited to 1,000 copies. [ Milward-Oliver p219 & 324.] In textured blue boards with gilt lettering spine and front (boards a little rounded and discoloured on corners). Internally neat, clean, bright and tight. Len Deighton (writing under the pen name Cyril) collaborates with Fred F Blau to present a history of the orient flight to the Holt Land of the Graf zeppelin airship which marked the reintroduction of the air-borne post office in 1929. Certainly a philatelic book but also a precise piece of history of flight, of particular interest to Zeppelin and LTA followers. Leonard Cyril Deighton is a British author whose works include cookery books, history and military history, but he is best known for his spy novels, including the series featuring the unnamed Harry Palmer.
