A Bristol bookseller's label to front pastedown. Price-clipped jacket toned to spine, with light wear and a few closed tear to edges. Very good. A book for the Opera enthusiast, presenting rare anecdotes and opinions about mid-twentieth-century singers and performances. May's letter is a wild and effusive reply to some very positive fan mail, commencing 'Yours is the best and most enjoyable letter I have ever received, not only on music, but about anything.'. Signed.
