Hardcover. Condition: Good. 1st Edition. 1942, 144pp. Light wear, else G+. Limited to 500cc, this number 135. Signed by the author. Coleman 197. Jonas was born in London, and lived for awhile in France and Germany, where he had gone seeking a healthier climate. Upon returning to London he took a position in his father's tobacco importing business. As a member of that firm, he traveled to the United States on business, eventually becoming associated with the Henderson (KY) Journal; and, shortly before World War I became editor of the Louisville Herald Newspaper. This is a biography, but is filled with the author's views on world and local politics, the arts, and the literary scene and is particularly interesting for its chapters on life in Louisville during the period immediately before and after World War I.
