Quarto (11 3/4" x 9") bound in original publisher's green cloth with gilt lettering to spine in pictorial jacket. Introduction by Jim McKay. First edition. A full, chronological history of the Olympic games, the greatest athletic competitions in the world, from their inception in Greece in 1370 BC to the 1970's, with emphasis on the Games since 1896, when they began again after a gap of 1503 years. Condition: Some markings in the results section, previous owner's name on front end paper, slightly sunned at head edge. Jacket edge tears else a very good copy in like jacket.
