First edition, first printing. Hardcover issue. Publisher's original light brown rexine with gilt titles to the upper board and spine. Illustrated with photographs, line drawings and charts throughout. A near fine copy, the binding square and firm, with some bumping to the upper corners and spine tips. The contents are clean throughout and without inscriptions or stamps. The author studied history, law, and architecture, and taught at the University of Munich. He devoted his career to conserving important historical buildings and sites. 'Obiter Dicta' is a profile of the 'recording and restoration' of culturally significant historical buildings and archaeological sites in the Middle East and South Asia.
