Frontispiece b/w photograph of 'The author was a native children.' Black and white photographs illustrate the text. Stamps of St. Bede's Study Library on page down and endpapers. Near good only. Sound. General wear. Ex. St. Bede's Library.

"Sales/posting to the USA suspended". Ex-library hard cover, xii/227pp, b&w plates. Library markings - clear plastic cover taped to pastedowns; sticker at base of spine; stamps on front fep and reverse/centre of title page and top of reverse/top of rear fep; card pocket on rear fep. Boards worn with bumped free corners and faded spine, page edges browned with a bit of foxing. A fair copy for age. Scarce.

Cloth sunned on the spine and a little mottled elsewhere; top edge and endpapers foxed; free endpapers offset; minimal foxing elsewhere; an excellent copy. The author spent four years from 1930 with the Roman Catholic Mission on Bathurst Island.
