Exceptional book by Czech photographer Jindrich Streit, showcasing previously unpublished images from the time of his first book, the masterpiece "Village is a Global Village" a period of Soviet occupation and so-called "normalization," during which Streit was prosecuted and jailed for his work. The 20th anniversary of the Velvet Revolution prompted Streit to revisit his body of work and harvest the images shown here nearly 100 full-page photos, uncommonly perceptive and incisive. Streit is unrivaled. Rare title - OCLC shows only TWO copies in American institutions.
