This offering vintage copy of The Normal Primary Arithmetic Designed as an Introduction to a Thorough and Complete Course in Mental and Written Arithmetic was written by Edward Brooks. It appears to be a Second Printing that MAY have been published in 1869 . . . though there's a date of 1892 written in script on the front loose end page. The book was published by Christopher Sower Company in 1859 - then again in 1869. It's a very interesting look at how it was . . . and how it was taught about 130 years ago. The book has no dust jacket and is in good condition, The book is 4" by 6 1/8" and has 103 pages of text. It's really a neat old book to peruse and see . . . how arithmetic once was. Here's an example of a typical "story problem" from page 59: "A man having 50 cows lost 40 and found only 6 tenths of them; how many remained?" Thank you!
