RARE French translation of "Choshen Mishpat" - the part of Jewish law that is pertinent to finance, torts, legal procedure and loans and interest, one of the four sections of an important Halakhic code, "Arba`ah Turim", compiled by Yaakov ben Asher (1270-1340). The translator, Jean de Pauly (1860-1903), also translated into French portions of Talmud and the first complete translation of the Zohar, for which he was criticised by Gershom Scholem for falsifying the book?s content. 180x125mm. 311 pages.
