Hardcover. 1865 39th ed. Hardcover, good, no DJ. Lettering on spine faded, corners bumped, with cardboard exposed there, cloth scuffed. Internally, front hinge cracked, shaken, 3 or 4 dogears and nicks along edges of 4 or 5 pages, age yellowed, but o/w clean, unmarked, decent overall. A relic of the great period of German immigration, it consists of German and English lessons and texts designed to help learn English. Interesting bi-lingual ad for Paul Mailander German-American Booksotre, Hoboken, New Jersey on fep. School; immigration; assimilation.
