Dust Jacket Condition: dj. First Edition. [Literature] Taylor, Daniel. They Move With the Sun. First Edition with Dust Jacket. New York: Farrar Straus and Company, 1948. 278 pages. Measures 5.5" x 8.25". a very collectible copy of Taylor's important debut book. Cover is vibrant red with an illustration of surgeons in a corner. Plot is loosely autobiographical and follows the formative years of Hank Leher. Born of Jewish parents in an Indiana mill town, his father and mother, are concerted in their efforts to let him become a doctor. Plot follows the many characters and experiences he has along the way to becoming a doctor. Through all these relationships, Hank's concern with love and hate, his need to save as he loves, are underlined in what is the first part of a projected panel of his life in several volumes. Publisher's announcement from the book reads: "The title: Man, a Many-Sided Mirror is reserved for the total work when it will have been completed. It is planned to publish these individual volumes, of which They Move With the Sun is the first." Minor chipping at top of Dust Jacket, but overall, in very good condition.
