These were published by Odhams between 30th March 1940 and 22nd March 1941. Modern World was the publication which incorporated Modern Wonders. The format and contents are very similar, as the publisher made use of the same artists. The publication holds a huge amount of historical and instructional content. Published during the war years, these are certainly of wartime interest; everything from rationing to uniforms, artillery to Destroyers of the French Navy are covered in this illustrated publication. There are also illustrated Science Fiction stories printed herein. Modern Wonder certainly was one of the finest publications of its day and gives us an extraordinary everyday insight into the fraught and fast-moving world of the time.
