With 16pp publisher's catalogue (dated 1881) bound in at end. Published in Bickers' series 'English Gentleman's Library', this is arguably the best illustrated edition of this famous memoir of the Court of Charles II. The fine portraits by Scrivens are engraved after Cooper, Lely, Mignard, Parmentier, Rigaud, Vandyck and others. Scarce in this condition. Two plates have a small, faint spot of marginal damping, in no way affecting images. Still an attractive copy overall.
