Es ist auch nicht bekannt, wann sie auf Kiel gelegt wurde, und nur wenig weiß man über ihre Geschichte bis i6zo. Der Autor hat nach umfangreichem Quellenstudium eine Rekonstruktion erarbeitet und nutzte dabei auch die Ergebnisse der Atlantiküberquerung der 1957 in Originalgröße nachgebauten ,Mayflower II". Er schildert eingangs den historischen Hintergrund der Reise der ?pilgrim fathers"; die Reise selbst, und beschreibt dann ausführlich das vermutliche Aussehen der ?Mayflower". Der Modellbauer erhält detaillierte Hinweise für die Anfertigung der Einzelteile und den Bau des Modells. Dabei gibt der Autor drei Varianten: eine für Anfänger, eine für erfahrene Modellbauer und eine für jene, die ein Modell von Ausstellungsqualität schaffen wollen. Beigefügt sind 6 Tafeln mit Rissen.
