Light foxing of the endpapers, else the book is in very good condition. The dustwrapper is in good condition (a little rubbed and chafed, repaired tear to the front panel). The dustwrapper has now been put in a mylar cover to protect it.

Illustrated throughout with numerous b/w plates supporting the text. Colour frontispiece plate. Light mottling to the boards, concealed under the wrapper. Fresh and firm. Dust wrapper not price clipped with sellotape reinforcement to the head and tail of the wrapper, covering several short tears. Slightly soiled wrapper - otherwise complete. A very good copy in a good plus wrapper.

A catalogue raisonne of the drawings and engravings of Marcellus Laroon or Lauron, the elder (1653-1702), a Dutch born painter and engraver, active in England. He provided the drawings for the popular series of prints 'The Cries of London'. Sadly I haven't been able to find out anything about the author Robert Raines. Quite a scarce book.
