Soft cover. Condition: Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. Large oblong book about 17 by 14 inches. Bound in thick stiff cardboard. Book consists of maps of all the counties of Texas with each county on one page (Except for Brewster County-2 pages & Jim Hogg/Brooks Counties together on one page). Total of 254 leaves with map printed on one side of each leaf--254 County Maps in all. Although there is no publication date most of the maps are dated with the latest date being updates on one map in 1935. Maps were not updated every year and thus they date from 1884 to 1935. Many maps are in the 1890's date range. A small number of maps are undated. These are typical county maps showing individual parcels with the name of the parcel owner(s). Some counties show Spanish and Mexican Land Grant parcels. Some counties are shown with uniform individual parcels indicated with numbers. These are possibly petroleum sections. An important group of maps with Land Grant and Petroleum information not readily obtainable today. A very expensive book when published the $25.00 cover price translates to over $500 in today's money, leading me to believe that the book was sold primarily to the oil industry (The publisher address is c/o American Royalty Petroleum Company in Tulsa, OK). Front cover detached; small piece of Nueces County map excised; three punctures at the rear cover extending back about 30 leaves with occasional small text damage/loss; paper age toned particularly at the edges; tiny dog ears at bottom right of early leaves. Very scarce. GOOD.
