(Colin de Land Fine Art), New York, Jan.-Feb. 1995; Fend presented this exhibition in response to the exhibition of the same name by Robert Storr held at the Museum of Modern Art, New York, Oct. 6-Dec. 20, 1994. Fend argued that MoMA's approach was overly simplistic and overlooked key comprehensive cultural aspects of mapping in art. He included his own mapping work, which he felt presented a more complex, political, and personal view of the concept. In the introductory statement, Fend states "Mapping, then, is a procedure between pure art, such as painting, drawing, sculpture, and its extension into inhabited space, or architecture." Artists include Acconci, Andre, Barry, Bochner, Burden, Buren, Burr, Christo, Dion, Ganahl, Graham, Huber, Huebler, Kurgan, Le Va, Matta-Clark, Oppenheim, Turrell, Weiner.
