The original is held as one of the treasures of the Boston Aethenaeum and the present facsimile was produced to coincide with the 200th anniversary of the expedition. The fold-out facsimile map consists of 28 rectangular panels, each being a high-quality color reproduction of one segment of the original map, the whole laid down on a canvas backing, as issued.
