Green cloth decorative binding, stamped in gilt. Clean text, save for an occasional pencil line. 209 pages, with six pages of publisher adverts in the rear. Gilt top-edge; others rough-cut. There are two penciled signatures: one (erased) with the date "August 1897" on the FFEP; another, presumed later owner, on the front paste-down. There is a newspaper clipping laid into the front which has offset to Page One of the text. The binding is rubbed at the margins, in particularly to the corners and the head and foot of the spine. Generally a solid copy, but not for the advanced collector. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
