Original Cloth. Condition: Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Poor. First Edition. The boards have a one inch patch of fading at the top of the spine and a two inch patch of fading at the bottom along with a triangular patch of fading to the bottom left corner of the front panel. The page edges have some light browning and there is some light spotting to the endpapers. Half inch closed tear to the bottom edge of page 51. The webbing is exposed between pages 36 and 37 but the binding is not slack and is completely secure. The jacket has a one inch chip missing from the top of the spine and a two inch piece missing from the bottom of the spine. The rear panel has a ragged four inch tear at the bottom and is browned and stained. Chipping and tearing to the corners. First printing. From the collection of Marjorie Powell, a botanist and yachtswoman who lived in Great Shelford, Cambridge with four pages of hand written notes by her laid in and an annotation in pencil to one page related to these notes.
