It was in the year 1820, that the author started to put the outline of this study because " There remained some of Islam's most important features of the wholly unexplained". The study starts with a detailed introduction of Islam, with historical, moral and ritual analogy of Mahometanism with Judaism and Christianity. Another analogy of the Qur'an with the Bible is also given . The author discusses also the Crusaders wars, with analogy between Christianity and Mahometanism in their influences on national characters and civilisation; on industry, manufacture and commerce. #1681.

Very slight rubbing of leather at top and bottom of spine, short stress cracks at joints at top of Vol. I, at top and bottom of rear joint of Vol. II; small dribble of white on edge of spine of Volume I. A very few foxing spots. Otherwise unmarked, clean, bright, tight, attractive set in near fine condition.
