No Binding. Condition: Good. 1st Edition. A late WW2 operations map, colour printed 113x82cm. Good, neatly folded with faint staining, and some neat ms pilot's route lines and calculations. Printed at the Survey of India Offices (H.L.O.) presumably for the RAF which is not named. This covers a significant part of India as far so…uth as Goa and as far east as Calcutta and the Mouths of the Ganges, all of Nepal, and its borders with Iran, Afghanistan, China, and Bhutan on a 1/3M scale. Features include settlements, geographical features, and contours at 1000 feet intervals with spot heights including a label for Everest. Drawing on airfield information from US Naval charts, this distinguishes Military and Commercial Land and Seaplane Bases identifying those with complete facilities, and those with refuelling and limited repair facilities only. Other aviation features include air navigation light beacons, and radio facilities and identification. The pilot's annotations trace a route connecting RAF Korangi Creek (Karachi) with Ahmadabad and beyond, with position and other data. Rare with just one copy located on Worldcat (OCLC 762927393: State Library of Western Australia).
