Hardback. Condition: Very Good-. Dust Jacket Condition: No Dust Jacket. Boards are sturdy, slightly bumped at corners, especially at crown of spine; binding is tight; pages minorly age-toned at outer edges with some pencilled annotations from previous owner, as well as ink signature, date, and location on preliminary page. Overall, this is a nice copy in sturdy condition. ; 4.5 x 0.5 x 6.2 inches; 101 pages.

Hardcover. Condition: Very good. Dust Jacket Condition: very good. First edition US. Thin octavo (standard size). Slight wear to edges and corners of boards and dust jacket. Names of two former owners on flyleaf. xxiii, 96 p. w/endnotes, bibliography. Ramus was a French Humanist and philosopher, adopting protestatism in 1561. 11 years later, he was killed in his home at prayer during the St. Bartholomew Massacre, after hiding for 3 days in a bookshop.
