Near fine condition with the lightest hint of shelfwear and superficial crease at the upper corner of the first several pages. The dust jacket is also near fine with a hint of fading on the spine panel and a small scratch on the front panel. A history of life saving on the close knit tiny island of Nantucket. Originally rescue attempts were all manned by volunteer crews from the islands, and eventually a government and then Coast Guard station opened.
