Lettre adressée au Roi par M. de Calonne le 9 février 1789 augmenté de Observations rapides sur la Lettre de Calonne au Roi par Joseph Antoine Cerutti, à Paris, 1789, suivi de 4 notes essentielles. Ministre des Finances sous Louis XVI de 1783 à 1787, Charles Calonne (1734-1802) choisi de s'exiler au moment de la Révolution en Angleterre. La Lettre de Calonne fait part à Louis XVI du fait que des publications paraissant, depuis le 5 juillet 1788, sapent le pouvoir monarchique. Lu au Café du Caveau au Palais-Royal, cette lettre de Calonne provoque un véritable tollé. Peu après son 'Mémoire sur le Peuple français' rédigé en 1788, Joseph Cerutti (1738-1792), jésuite proche des voltairiens publie ces 'Observations rapides sur la Lettre de monsieur de Calonne'. Erreur de pagination avec une double numérotation des pages 161 à 176, déchirure marginale p185, papier jauni, coins élimés, charnières travaillées.
