Full-Leather Original Restored. Condition: Very Good. Full Leather Early Edition. Sm 8vo, full leather, respined with original laid down, .xxiv+366 pp. incl. good index, from Deacon library, Mabledon Park Tonbridge, Kent with bookplate. [Deacons were wealthy bankers and Christian philanthropists]. A little bit dusty throughout but a sound copy. There have been many guesses as to who Junius was; his Letters were very popular as political comment and satire, against the Duke of Grafton, Lord North & even the King. The 69 letters were designed inter alia to tell English readers their historical and constitutional rights, and point out how the Government was infringing them, and the King was trying to appoint cronies as his ministers. Also available a learned journal offprint, Frank Monaghan's A New Document on the Identity of Junius, 1932, pp. 68-71, Clean unmarked copy. £15 + postage. Size: Sm 8vo. Association Copy. Antiquarian.
