'The Leopard' was performed at the Connaught Theatre, Worthing, 22nd May, 1955. A well-established try out venue. The play is set in Tanganyika, Africa, a story of rulers living according to The Code. A prolific novelist, playwright and travel writer, Robert Cecil Romer Maugham, 2nd Viscount Maugham, known as Robin Maugham (1916 Ð 1981), nephew of Somerset Maugham, is most famous for his book, 'The Servant' which was memorably filmed by Joseph Losey in 1963 and starred Dirk Bogarde and James Fox. Several leaves stapled together, probably as part of the revisions process. Slight fraying at head and foot of spine, several small creases to covers. Very good. Light wear otherwise very good.
