    Condition: Very Good. First edition. Hardcover book . Leather spine and corners over marbled boards, with gilt titles, decorations and lines to spine with 5 raised bands. Red speckled closed edges, brown endpapers. Bound by Wardley and Arnold of Guernsey. viii, 392pp, tall octavo. No illustrations. Text consists of a preface and 12 lectures given by the author, who was Regius Professor of Divinity at Oxford University and Canon of Christ Church. This copy belonged to a J.J. Jeremie, MA, of Trinity College Cambridge (small inscription on second flyleaf). Very Good. Clean covers slightly rubbed corners and top of spine with very small loss to leather of top of spine. Gilt bright. Most pages clean, though some heavy foxing to prelims , and last few leaves. A nice looking copy in half leather. Pictures available.
