First Edition
Condition: Good. Blind-stamped and stamped in gilt decorated cloth; 32mo; 3 by 4.375 inches, 120 pages. The bindings are tight and square. Text clean, light even toning. Moderate shelf handling wear, the gilt and cloth are faded. The blank preliminaries have a child's pencil scribbles. Loss of the lower corner of two pages 75-78. An uncommon mid-19th century gift book. A compilation of aphorisms, short texts, and poetry by various authors. Subjects: Anthologies; Conduct of life; Victorian Gift books.
