Illustrated title page. Expedition to the sources of the Missouri, thence across the Rocky Mountains and down the river Columbia to the Pacific ocean, performed during the Years 1804-5-6 by order of the Government of the United States. Illustrated with water colors and drawings by Carl Bodmer and other contemporary artists. Slipcase lightly sunned along edges.

Edges of textblock gilt with mild scratching primarily on the fore edge of Volume II. With marbled endpapers and silk ribbon bookmarks. Features fold out maps in the rear of each volume.
