First edition. Original engraving single print. 6.25 x 10 inches. Minor edge wear. Minor foxing. Fine impression. Illustrates Joseph Clark the Posture Master 1 17th century contortionist described as the most extraordinary Posture Master that ever existed. Comes with mylar and backing board. James Caulfield?s famous [or perhaps, infamous] collection of portraits and accounts of notable rogues, criminals, freaks, and other curious characters. This print is from the first edition of the collection London 1794. Joseph Clark was a cotortionist in the first half of the 17th century who exhibited every species of deformity and dislocation. His nickname was ?The Wandering Tumour?.
