No inscriptions. Boards bright and clean. No inscriptions. No fading. Offsetting to both sets of end-papers. The lightest of foxing to the fore-edge. Overall a VG+ copy. In the RARE first state good dustwrapper priced 10/6 net to the inside flap (as called for) The dustwrapper is split along the full length of the spine with an old, historic, sellotape repair in a couple of places to the verso. This has now been removed and the tear stabilised to the verso. The front panel has a closed tear (and associated creasing) to the bottom edge (also stabilised to the verso) and an area of surface loss to the top right-hand corner of the front panel. NB: the stabilisation of the tears has been been using Japanese tissue applied by a skilled paper conservationist. Scarce in dustwrapper. The rarest of the early Poldark novels especially in dustwrapper.
