Soft cover. Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. Original grey-blue printed wraps with blue cloth spine 14 x 22cm. vii + 99pp. Wraps very good, slightly dulled with some edge wear. Binding secure. Pages very good with light creasing and tanning. One in a series of handbooks issued during 1918-19, prepared by the Historical Section of the Foreign Office for the use of officials attending the Peace Conference 1919-20. They were subsequently declassified and issued to the public in a modified form in 1920 (usually without maps, if the 1st edition had included them - not all handbooks were issued with them). This copy is from the 1st "confidential" edition, dated June 1919, covering geography, political history, social, political and economic conditions etc.
