Photos by James Turrell document the artist's most recent work. The book is accompanied by a CD specially recorded for this project with compositions by Paul Schütze.

Cloth-covered clamshell box with pasted-on illustration, containing the special edition hardback of 'Eclipse', 95pp, together with 'Thomas Joshua Cooper: Departure - Fourth Contact of the Solar Eclipse' (signed print in titled wrap), 'Thomas Joshua Cooper: Arrival - The Total Eclipse of the Sun' (signed print in titled wrap), and 'The Gazing Engine: Composed and Produced by Paul Schutze' (a CD in card folder). The book contains two further prints: one fine aquatint by James Turrell, and an etching taken from a 1636 woodcut depicting an eclipse. The box has two pastedowns functioning as colophons. The front box pastedown is numbered 18 and signed by James Turrell, under which is numbered "23/100". Turrell's aquatint is signed. From the colophon: "The work contained in this limited edition boxed set has been made in response to the total solar eclipse on 11 August 1999". Near fine condition.
