James Dodds (b.1957) is an East Anglian artist born in Brightlingsea, Essex, whose practice centres on painting, linocut and relief carving. His paintings and hand-made prints are inspired by boats and boat building, especially those craft peculiar to East Anglia. He now lives and works in Wivenhoe producing prints and books as the Jardine Press. He is the son of East Anglian artist Andrew Dodds] and has been described as "boatbuildings artist laureate". The catalogue includes a foreword by the writer and art critic Ian Collins, author of the book entitled "Tide Lines" on the work of James Dodds, published by the Jardine Press.
