Add to basketHardcover. Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. Iona, A History of the Island with Descriptive Notes was written by F. M. McNeill. The book was published by Blackie and Son Limited but no date of publication is given. It looks to be of 1920's vintage. The book is 5 1/4" by 8 7/8", and has 105 pages with an Index, a Table of Contents, and older black-and-white photographs throughout which are not included in the page count. It is NOT an ex-library copy, has no dust jacket, and is in good + condition. "When I visited Iona in 1917 I tried to obtain a modest handbook which should give a concise and comprehensive account of the island: its history and significance in the progress of our Western civilization; its antiquities ofthe Celtic and Midiaeval periods; and, not least, its folk-lore, which gives life and colour to almost every nook and cranny in the little island." He could not find one so this is his "answer." Thank you!
