Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. "Second Printing . May 1943." (The first was April.) It's sort of like "War of the Worlds," see. Except the invaders who have bombed the crap out of Southern California aren't aliens, exactly. They're more like . . . Japs! Squinty-eyed Japs! On dust jacket front panel, scantily clad blonde starlets attempt to escape the grasp of Japanese soldiers, who appear to be leading the survivors of Los Angeles on some kind of Bataan Death March -- like, maybe to Malibu. Hey, it was 1943 -- dark days. From the author of the pulp classics "In Savage Surrender" and (who could forget?) "Manhandled," who later reportedly wrote a few episodes of TV's "Surfside Six" and "77 Sunset Strip." Not price clipped; original $2.50 price showing. Some modest chipping to top and bottom of jacket spine. 320 pp.
