A giant in the fields of mathematical logic and theoretical computer science, the work of Alonzo Church was a groundbreaking figure in 20th century mathematics. This first edition of 'Introduction to Mathemetical Logic' was 'the first half of an introductory course in mathematical logic given to graduate students in mathematics' at Princeton in 1943 (Introduction from the second edition). Church later revised and greatly expanded upon this original, which was republished in 1956. The notes from this lecture series were compiled by the graduate student Clifford Ambrose Truesdell III, who went on to teach mathematics at Indiana University and Johns Hopkins University. Scarce on the market, this copy is still in considerably good condition despite the splash marks on the front cover. . First Edition. Soft Cover. Very Good.
