Full-Leather. Condition: Good+. No Jacket. 1st Edition. Mid brown plain leather, unlettered on spine which is split on the front outer joint but holding o.k. having been neatly strengthened internally with a new front end paper . Head of spine chipped with moderate loss. Rear spine joint cracked at head and tail , lower corner of front board chipped with slight loss. Two early ink signatures on front board of the first child owners. Browning to most early leaves with light to moderate soiling, mainly finger marks and with a few pencil marks to text. Small corner cut from front lower corner margin of end paper. Faint Ink signature of Ellen Ann Turner and William Turner of Sudbury on front board. Further signature of 'William Turner, jan 30, 1819' on rear errata leaf that of 'Ellen Turner , aged 11, 1851' on rear end paper. The front end papers bear their above signatures and experiments with their initials. Collates thus : [iv], [1], 2-171, [1]pp RARE. The author is given as 'Of the Free Grammar School, Repton' and wrote two other books, ' The Arithmetic .' and 'A key to Gregory's Arithmetic.'
