Illustrated throughout. Dated from the British Library. A comprehensive study on insects and their various transformations through the life cycle. With chapters on the eggs of insects, larvae, pupae, perfect insects, and much more. Written anonymously by James Rennie, a Scottish naturalist. Bound by Evans & Abbott, Bristol. Bound in full brown calf. Externally, smart with rubbing to the extremities and marks to the boards. Fading to the spine and a crack to the rear joint. Minor loss to the head of the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean. Light spotting to the endpapers. Contemporary ink inscription to the front endpaper dated 1857. Very Good. book.
