Hardcover. Condition: Fair. xii 420pp hardback, printed label over brown cloth, side of backstrip split.

Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. No markings or inscriptions. Bound in original tan/brown cloth with green, printed spine labels. The labels are a little chipped; one is missing a corner. The cloth is darkened/patinated with age and handling; top edge a little dusty. The contents are very clean, and the hinges very strong. Published under the superintendence of the Society for the Diffusion of Useful Knowledge. Many engravings. A lovely, original volume.

Title page of 'the domestic habits of birds' missing, and confusingly it has the title 'faculties of birds' on the spine which is actually the title of another volume in the series.
