The dust jacket is very good, mylar covered with book club edition in the bottom right hand corner. Signed by both T. L. McCready the author and illustrator Tasha Tudor. Dated 1958. Increase Rabbit started life with unimpressive name of George. He was one of two fine Belgian Hares which Mrs. Warner brought home for the children to enjoy on their New Hampshire farm, But when , a few weeks later, George" was discovered to be the proud mother of seven baby rabbits, the children promptlly renamed her Increase. This was not the only time Increase was to surprise the Warners, for she turned out to be a very unusual rabbit in many ways, and quite different from her rather fluffy husband , Albert. The adventures Increase has when she decides to move from the rabbit hutch into the house, her friendship with the Warner's tomcat Mr. Stubbs, and the mischief she gets into because of her unconbrollable love of munching, make a delightful styory which is made even more enjoyable by Tasha Tudor's pictures. A book that needs some repair of the loose pages, but would be a nice addition to anyone's library. Signed by Author and Illustrat.

"Encouraged by his wife's success, Thomas McCready also began to write children's books about the farm animals in New Hampshire," note Tudor bibliographers William and Priscilla Hare (5); INCREASE RABBIT is one such story drawn from Tudor and McCready's rural New England family farm. Following the house rabbit of the Warner family - named after the town adjoining Webster, where Tudor and McCready owned a large 1790s farm house - this story and its illustrations feature characters based on the Tudor-McCready children. This is an unusual Tudor title, in remarkably nice condition. 8'' x 6''. Original yellow cloth binding with black lettering. Original unclipped ($2.75) color pictorial dust jacket.
