First Thus. 7 of 8 volumes of The Spectator: June 2, 1711 thru December 20, 1714. 7 volumes uniformly bound in full brown tree-calf with black title labels stamped in gilt, 8vo, approx 400pp/vol. A scarce early printing of this celebrated serial 18th century publication. (light shelfwear and rubbing to extremities & outer hinges; four volumes with detached upper board, upper board missing for one volume; toning and light foxing to edges and endpapers, vol 8 with a stain to the foredge affecting the margin slightly). Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾". Book.
