    8vo. pp. viii, 366. Original publisher's blue cloth lettered gilt on spine. Presentation copy: 'For my friend Madariaga from Palmstierna'. Loosely inserted postcard addressed to Mrs de Madariaga dated 1938. Salvador de Madariaga (1886 1978) a Spanish diplomat, historian, author and pacifist married Constance née Archibald in 1912. Loosely inserted notes on the book and a list of foods with titles of books about diet and ailments possibly in her hand. Some underlining and annotations in the text in the same hand. The prefatory note states that 'The messages . have reached us through the instrumentality of Mrs. Alexander Fachiri (Adila Fachiri, the violinist)'. The last chapter explains how seances were held and messages were received. A little nicked at head and foot of spine, otherwise very good. Light wear otherwise very good.

Age-toned paper. 8.75 x 6" w. A very good copy with exceptions noted.
