The quantitative data reveal a medium to high use of MCLLSs among learners and a prevalence of multiple major preferences. The qualitative data show the reasons for using and not using particular MCLLSs, the reasons for preferring and not preferring particular LLSYs, situations and language tasks in which MCLLSs were selectively used and in which particular LLSYs were favoured. Despite the existence of the discrepancies between the quantitative and qualitative data, the findings from the two data sources were consistent in showing that there were no differences in the MCLLS use of learners with each of the six major style preferences. In the first quantitative phase, correlation and multiple regression analyses were used to examine the relationship between the potential factors and the students learning performance. As a follow-up to have a better understanding of the quantitative findings, some of the students were interviewed in the second qualitative phase. The results of both phases reveal how the factors influence the students on-line learning. These results provide good suggestions for on-line education improvements, and should be especially useful to educationists or any professionals who are concerned with the on-line education quality.…

This study linked beliefs with the implementation of out-of-class language-learning activities. Participants of this study were Chinese-speaking adolescent ESL learners undertaking vocational education in Hong Kong and their teachers. Results indicate that the two aspects are intimately related: Learners who regarded out-of-class language-learning activities as useful were found to possess more positive beliefs regarding their English learning. Learners who implemented out-of-class language-learning activities were found to have more positive beliefs in terms of two factors, the factor of Perceived Value and Nature of Learning Spoken English, and the factor of Self-efficacy and Expectation about Learning English. Teachers either directly or indirectly agreed that there is an association between beliefs and the implementation of out-of-class language-learning activities. There are four research questions :1. What are the perspectives of employers concerning the provision of CL/LLL to employees 2. How do the employers perceive and manage their organizational learning 3. For the employees what is their hierarchy of needs in their pursuit of CL/LLL 4. How do ordinary people in business and in society perceive CL/LLL How do they distinguish between them Maslow's five basic needs model was used, supplemented by Nohria, Groysberg & Lee 's (2008) model.The findings: for Q1 is that the employers are very pragmatic and stringent in the provision of CL/LLL to employees; for Q2 is that the employers are not too conversant with the theoretical concepts for organization learning, and they usually do not maintain a systematic archive for organization knowledge; for Q3 is that in the motivation factors of self-esteem and self-actualization in Maslow's model ranked highest, in the employees' pursuit of CL/LLL and some of the employees showed that they had more than one motivation factors at the same time; and for Q4 is that for most people CL are for serious matters related to job and career development only, and LLL is for other less formal or serious matter beyond CL.…
