Personal property of murdered Jews was collected and utilized in various ways. Watches were distributed to the German Army, jewelry was transferred to state-owned pawn shops for sale on international and domestic markets, clothing was distributed among various segments of the population, hair of the murdered was used in stuffing mattresses and dental gold was melted down into gold bars.
